Making Your Home Shine

It’s a common fact that clean homes net more money. Most people are turned off by even the smallest amount of uncleanness or odor when looking at homes to purchase. Sellers lose thousands of dollars because they do not adequately clean their homes or rid them of offensive odors.

If your home is squeaky clean, you will be able to sell your home faster and net more money.  Hire a maid service, such as Merry Maids, to come in for a day and do a real “spring cleaning”, including windows.

If you are planning on moving, why not get rid of old unnecessary items now so that your house will actually appear larger? One of the greatest use of storage facilities is for a pre-move; box up most of your items that are seasonal, won’t be used until after the move, or just ready to be out of the house to free up space, and put them in a “pod” or a storage locker for the duration of the selling period.  The benefit?  Part of your move is already completed, and you’ve made more space.

Clean carpets and drapes now, and make liberal use of odor eliminators, such as Fabreeze.  Odors must be eliminated, especially if you have pets, young children in diapers, or a smoker in the house. A little work now can pay huge dividends at closing.
